News that Caught My Eye -- Senator Grassley Requests Info that Reveals 12 NSA Privacy Breaches

The NSA failed several compliance tests and Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee wrote Inspector General George Ellard looking for answers, to which Ellard responded.

In the Inspector General’s letter he said that 12 different cases of NSA surveillance abuse did indeed occur this past summer. Concerning this, he stated that “we shouldn’t tolerate even one instance of misuse of this program.”

Investigations continue as more truth is revealed concerning breaches of privacy. The an important Senate Committee meeting just the other day speaks of FISA and attempts at new privacy legislation.

I'm storing this bit of news that caught my eye away for future reference. As an aside, this seems very much connected to current budget issues and yet another threat of government shutdown.
